1. Heat preservation and antifreeze. Thermal insulation measures should be taken for tractors in severe winter. Such as: in the engine cover insulation curtain, insulation sleeve, if necessary, in front of the tractor radiator with cardboard wind, in order to reduce the cold air into, or appropriate loose fan belt, reduce fan speed. The engine equipped with oil radiator should turn the switch to the "winter" position, so that the oil does not flow through the oil radiator.

2. Use of battery. It's difficult to start in winter. The duration of electric starting should not exceed 5 seconds. If it can't start once, stop for half a minute before starting. If it can't start three times, check the reason. The specific gravity of electrolyte should be adjusted from 1.25-1.26 in summer to 1.28-1.29, and from 1.30-1.31 in alpine region. The discharge degree of the battery should not exceed 25% of its capacity. If it exceeds 25%, it should be recharged. When the battery is not in use in winter, it should be removed and fully charged. It should be stored in a dry and ventilated place with little change in temperature. It should be checked once a month. If the battery power is insufficient, it should be recharged to extend the service life of the battery.

3. Do a good job of seasonal maintenance. Before winter, all parts of the tractor should be cleaned, adjusted and lubricated. Too large or too small valve clearance, insufficient fuel injection pressure and too late fuel supply will cause engine starting difficulties. In addition, the clutch, brake and control mechanism should be adjusted to ensure that the tractor is in good technical condition and lay a good foundation for winter.

4. Change lubricating oil in time. In winter, due to the low temperature, the viscosity of the engine oil increases, the fluidity becomes poor, and the starting resistance increases, which brings difficulties to the starting and lubrication. Therefore, it is necessary to timely change the No. 11 engine oil used in summer to No. 8 engine oil used in winter. The gear oil in the gearbox and rear axle should be changed from No. 30 used in summer to No. 20.
